U-32 offers a rich and diverse array of courses, providing choices for students of all skill levels. The curriculum, which includes coursework, co-curricular activities, and other educational experiences, is the school’s formal plan that guides content, instruction and assessment in its mission of high expectations for student achievement. The large number of electives offered reflects the school’s commitment to student choice. Fundamental to the U-32 philosophy is the belief that sports and the arts are "co-curricular" (not extra-curricular) parts of education. This value is affirmed with credit awarded for these activities.

Grace Hirt has been named as a Semifinalist in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program. As one of approximately 16,000 high school seniors, Grace has an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,200 National Merit Scholarships offered next spring. Congratulations Grace!

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation have been recognized for their exceptional academic promise. National Merit Scholarship Commended students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2009 competition by taking the 2007 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
