U-32 offers a rich and diverse array of courses, providing choices for students of all skill levels. The curriculum, which includes coursework, co-curricular activities, and other educational experiences, is the school’s formal plan that guides content, instruction and assessment in its mission of high expectations for student achievement. The large number of electives offered reflects the school’s commitment to student choice. Fundamental to the U-32 philosophy is the belief that sports and the arts are "co-curricular" (not extra-curricular) parts of education. This value is affirmed with credit awarded for these activities.

Five U-32 seniors have been honored for their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), a nationally recognized standardized test. Semi-finalists are the highest scorers in each state and represent less than one percent of each state's high school seniors; Isa Ballard qualified in that exclusive category. Other high scorers are designated as Commended Students.
