The U-32 Middle School provides middle school students with a nurturing climate to assist in making the transition from elementary school to the high school. Each student is assigned to one of the core instructional teams (Zenith for 7th graders, Apex or Pinnacle for 8th graders). Each core team consists of four teachers: an English, social studies and science teacher, and a special educator. A math teacher is also assigned to each core, but due to grouping in math, a math teacher may teach students from both 8 th grade cores.
The U-32 Middle School provides middle school students with a safe, nurturing environment which helps students to make the transition from elementary school to high school. The Zenith core is made up of the entire seventh grade. All students will experience a common curriculum taught by members of the seventh grade team. During their morning ore block, seventh grade students will receive instruction in Language Arts, Math, Reading , Science, and Social Studies. Technical Education will be integrated into the seventh grade math program. Non-core classes for seventh grade students include PE, Band, Strings, Chorus, Guitar, Healthy Living, Computers, Foreign Language, and Reading Strategies.
The eighth grade consists of two cores, Apex and Pinnacle. Eighth grade students will have two separate core blocks in their daily schedule. Within these learning blocks, students will receive instruction in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. A member of the Fine Arts Department will be working with the core academic teachers to integrate art instruction into the core academic courses. Non-core classes for eighth grade students include PE, Band, Strings, Chorus, Guitar, Technical Education, Health, Foreign Language, and Reading Strategies.
