credit

Class credit is based on the number of hours spent in the class. Most classes run 60 minutes a day for one trimester, and students who pass them earn ½ credit. Some courses run over two trimesters and are worth one credit. Course descriptions include information about other credit situations. Co-curricular activities earn ¼ credit.

Note: All students must carry a minimum of four academic courses at all times in order to be considered full-time. Students may not use co-curricular activities, aide positions, independent studies, etc., to count towards full-time status. Any student seeking exception to these requirements must receive permission from the Registrar or the head of the Guidance Department.

The Following Are Minimum Credit Requirements for Promotion

Entrance to Grade 10

Entrance to Grade 11

Entrance to Grade 12

Note: Students entering their senior year who are planning to graduate with their class but have not yet earned 16 ½ credits must complete an "Intent to Graduate" form. The form, available in Guidance, needs to be returned to the Guidance Office by September 15 in order for the student to be considered a member of the graduating class. Only students who have earned 16 ½ credits are eligible for senior privileges.
